This week's question: How many books do you read in a week? And in what format do you read them, or listen to them?
I read 3-5 books a week. The format depends on how readily available the book is. I switch between ebook and paper.

This week's question: What book-to-movie adaption have you most liked? Which have you disliked?
I've most liked the Harry Potter series. I thought all of the directors did a good job of sticking to the major points and getting most of the good details into the movies. I really enjoyed the movie adaptation of Beastly as well. The book was okay, but I liked the movie. The movie I've most disliked would have to be....Cat in the Hat. I thought Mike Myers would be able to pull it off, but between him and some of the aspects in the movie I was pretty disappointed.
What about you? How many books do you read a week? What's your favorite/least favorite adaptation??

I never saw the movie of Cat in the Hat -- looked way too creepy for me!! :)
ReplyDeleteHey
ReplyDeleteI'd have to agree, Harry Potter movies are definitely the best.

Let’s kick off Memorial Day Weekend with some scandal and controversy.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely loved every minute of the Lord of the Rings films and felt they hit the mark when they brought Tolkien’s masterpiece to the big screen.

I did like Harry Potter as well! Those were exceptionally good! Can't remember if I even saw the Cat in the hat--wasn't that Mike Meyers though? Jim Carrey did the Grinch who Stole Christmas, which was kind of funny! Don't remember reading a lot of Dr. Suess in my days though! I liked fairy tales (both Grimm and Disney!) and The Bernstein Bears for the most part!
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!

@Jessica: Thanks for pointing out it was Mike Meyers and not Carrey *headdesk*....I forgot about that. Still creepy though! :)

I very much agree about Cat in the Hat. It was ridiculous!
ReplyDeleteGone with the Wind is my favorite movie, although not-so-favorite book.
Happy to be hopping through! The face made out of books? So cool!

The ads for Cat in the Hat made me decide immediately that I never wanted to watch it.

Oh yeah, I fully agree that 'Cat in the Hat' was atrocious. I'm not a fan of Seuss to begin with but that movie was still a step down.
ReplyDeleteNow following.

The Harry Potter series certainly was a great adaptation, but the world I dreamed of when reading seems just a little more magical to me.
ReplyDeleteThe Cat in the Hat was awful! The cartoon version that was out when I was a kid I loved. I love Seuss! I remember this movie when I was little that had several of the books in movie format and I adored it.
