This week's question:
Let's step away from besties...What is the worst book that you've ever read and actually finished?
Dear John by Nicholas Sparks
Just to clarify: The reasons for me ranking this as the worst book I've read have nothing to do with the writing. In fact, I would say that it was well written. I just didn't care for the way it finished. It is a purely personal preference, and if you like contemporary books I would recommend giving him a shot.

I remember liking this book way back when but for the life of me I can't remember the ending:) If it's what I think it might be I can see why you didn't like it! Have a wonderful weekend. Following! ReplyDeleteThe only contests I enter are those held on GoodReads. Come see why.
ReplyDeleteI love The last Song and Dear John is still sitting on my bookshelf, unread. I lent it to my friends and they said it was nice. I'm still putting off the reading.
ReplyDeleteHave a nice weekend!

Have a nice weekend..
I was never much of a Nicholas Sparks fan myself. I'm too far into the supernatural to go back to "ordinary" books.
ReplyDeleteHere's my Friday Hops
Have a GREAT weekend!!

I don't think Nicholas Sparks is my kind of author haha. Didn't they do a movie on this book too?
ReplyDeleteI'm a new follower by the way! If you have a chance, stop by and see my FF post for this week at the link below :) Have a great weekend!

I salute all the brave souls that soldier on to finish a bad book. I could never do that. I never have and I can’t imagine I ever will.
ReplyDeleteThis week’s Follow Friday question is an excellent companion to last week’s Book Blogger Hop question.
Follow me back to my blog and read all about why I hardly ever start a bad book let alone finish one – http://www.howardsherman.net
Read both my Book Blogger Hop post last week and my Follow Friday post this week and you’ll get the bigger picture of how my mind works. Don’t say I didn’t warn you! [grin]
Thank G-d It’s Follow Friday!

Hi! Just stopping by. Following you from Feature & Follow My Book Blog Friday. Would love a visit and a follow back on my blog: http://blog.writerslairbooks.com. Thanks! Nice to meet you!
ReplyDeleteI've read Nicholas Sparks (but not Dear John). His writing is decent, but his stories seem a bit conventional. Sorry you had a bad ending experience with Dear John.
ReplyDeleteHopping through. I'm not a huge Nicholas Sparks fan. Too cardboard for me.

Oh wow. I am so surprise by your choice in the not so good book for you! I absolutely love Nicholas Sparks. As you said, his writing is great. I don't know why I love him so much. Other than his writing being so good.
ReplyDeleteI'm now a follower =) Hope to see you around!
